What is semi permanent make up?

Permanent make up or micropigmentation as its also known, is a revolutionary beauty treatment used to define eyebrows, eyes and lips. It will give you a subtle natural finish, creating a long lasting look to enhance your natural beauty.

Micropigmentation is the process whereby hypoallergenic pigments are inserted into the dermal layer of the skin, using either a microblade or needle. This makes it stay put all day, every day without smudging or wearing off. So, whether your sweating in a gym, taking a trip to a sauna or jacuzzi or splashing around in a pool, there's no need to worry about exposing your au naturale look.

What to expect?

First we start with a consultation either face to face or via zoom where we will discuss your desired semi permanent make up expectations. Then ill measure your facial features and using my tools ill draw on the guide shape, this is to show you the approximate shape and size of your new brows and for me to check symmetry shape and size for your face.
Once were both in agreeance and happy I will then go through colours with you.
Once we've agreed on both colours and shape I will take a sterile needle or blade and begin the treatment. The actual procedure can take anywhere from 40 mins to 2 hours depending on which pmu treatment your having.
Once we've completed your procedure you will be provided with aftercare advice and healing balm to protect your skin. You may experience some slight swelling and redness afterwards but this will subside within 24 hours. The skin may feel sensitive in the treated area.
The whole appointment takes 2 to 3 hours again depending on which treatment you choose and the treatments cannot be rushed. You will then return to me between 4 to 6 weeks for a second appointment to top up any lost areas of pigment, adjust the colour or tone and tweak the shape if necessary.

FAQs

Does it hurt?
Everyone has a different pain threshold so its hard for me to answer but for the majority of my clients its not painful and most are surprised at how little the treatment hurts.

When will I see results?
You will have instant results but the colour will fade down by 30 -50% after your first treatment. This colouring usually softens by day 7. The treated areas may also appear dry or flaky but shouldn't be too noticeable. After 4 to 6 weeks your true colour and tone should appear. This is why a second appointment is made between 4 & 6 weeks so that all healing has completely finished and we can clearly see where needs further work.

How long does it last ?
This varies from client to client due to a number of factors including your active lifestyle, skin type and genetics but most people find it lasts a minimum of 9 months to 3 years. Id say the majority of my clients return around the 12 month mark for their top up appointments.
Is it expensive?
For the length of time semi permanent make up lasts, its a very reasonable investment. The treatment process is roughly a 4 to 6 hour process in total over 4 to 6 weeks and requires a highly skilled practitioner hence the price being higher than your average beauty treatments.
